Single Colour Print

Design

Once the design is decided, it is transferred to the lino block - this should be a mirror image of how you want the final print to look.

Carving

The design is carved out of the lino - whatever is not carved out will create the print.

Inking

Ink is rolled on to the surface of the block.

Registering

The inked block is placed into the registration jig on the press, ready for printing.

The printing paper is then laid on top of the block in the jig.

Printing

The inked block and paper are run through the press, the ink on the block is transferred to the paper, and the print is created.

Finished print

The finished print is left to dry completely. This can take some time, depending on the ink used, and climate conditions at the time.
